Movie Lesson: Pixar's Inside Out

Inside Out(2015) was a great movie that I watched today. I never get to watch it when it first released,  It was an "old" movie I guess but I think it's alright to turn our head once or twice for classics! Overall, it was a great movie! This movie is rated 8.2/10 on IMDb tho!

If you haven't seen the movie, it tells the story of the emotional life of an 11-year-old girl, Riley, by showing each of her main emotions as a character. Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust work as a team, taking turns at Riley's control panel (which guides Riley's behavior) while consulting and debating with each other on how to handle different situations in Riley's life.

Alright, so let's get straight to the point: Lessons I Learn from this movie! Alert: Spoilers Ahead!

1. There's no happiness if there's no sad: There are all feelings that we go through!
Like a favourite quote of mine: There's no rainbow without a storm. Every feeling is a part and parcel of our life(and feelings are temporary tho) ! So don't try to escape from sadness, because you won't be able to do it. Instead, face every sad moment head on. Remember, there is rainbow after the storms you been through! We should feel and be conscious about every feelings that we go through!

2. Our Core Memories and Faded Memories
Yup, our core memories consist of our IMPORTANT LIFE EXPERIENCES that we been through. These are:

These memories accompany us through our lifetime. However, some will fade like  the goofy memories that we did when we are small and naive, all these will fade as we begin to grow mature and mature. In order to keep these memories, refresh them once in a while! Do some silly ass things to "awake" these beautiful moments in you! Life is not only about work and worries! Friendship Island! keep intact with your friends! ask them for a coffee sometimes! chat about the good ol days! Life is short! keep it sweet!

3. Imaginative Friends / Imaginative BoyFriend: Let's be Creative !
I liked how thoroughly the movie depicts the eternal thoughts that one could have once or twice in their heads: our imaginative figures! We always imagine that there is this imaginative friend that accompany us when we are young.. Then, after we grow up, we imagine how our life partner will look, how s/he cares of us, love us. These are the partners that we dream of having! It can be best mate or a life partner. My point here is appreciate our imaginative thoughts! Sometimes these thoughts might fade : just like the Imaginative friend Bing Bong that Riley never really remember as she grows up. But it's okay! These will remains as our best childhood memories!

Bing Bong (Riley's imaginative best friend)

4. Be True to Our Feelings
While Joy and Sadness are away from Headquarters, the rest of the team (Disgust, Anger, and fear) try to do things the way Joy would, in essence of pretending to be Joy.

I guess most of us can relate to this right? We often repress or hide our feelings away from people around us. But really, if you feel sad, cry it out. Don't try to hide the anxiety or depression under a smiling face! Find a way to let off your feelings: share your troubles with your friends! Let it all out and away!

It's best for us to be honest about what we're feeling: "faking it" can be disastrous.

5. Let Happiness Drive Our Lives!
Among those five emotions (joy, sad, disgust, anger, fear), Joy is the one who always lead Riley's mind. Joy is the only suitable emotion that we can depend on to lead our life. If our life is driven by anger, we will look like a mad head. If we are driven by fear, we will always live in our own circle, dare not to try new things. When we are happy and content inside, we feel better about life and tasks would seem easier to us. Alas, happiness is the key.

In a nutshell
This movie is great in the sense it depicts the details of our emotions and how emotions's related to our memories and the way we perceive things in life. In the end, it is all up to us that we let which emotions control our life! if we choose to dwell in the past, we let sadness control our life. Choices matter.
