TSLB3132 Inclusive Education: Passive student and challenges in ensuring successful implementation of Inclusive Ed Programmes

Questions 1) Osman is a pupil with special needs. He has been included in the mainstream class. He is a quiet and shy boy. He is only sometimes able to follow the teaching and learning in class and many a time is lost especially when the mainstream teacher only uses the English textbook when teaching. As a mainstream teacher, discuss with example how you can ensure the involvement of all pupils in your teaching and learning process using multisensory teaching . Answers: Task #1: Osman needs help Trait 1: quiet and shy 1.find out topic that interests him- mandatory five-minute talk from a student before each class on a topic of interest 2.conduct small group activities – animals in the jungle – assign Osman as the leader- to lead the discussion and assign jobs to team members 3. pick Osman to answer teacher’s oral question in the class – give praises and do not over bash his comments   Trait 2: sometimes can follow, sometimes not because teacher is boring using only textbook Prep...

Stories in History #IPGKIK: The other side of TESL Block

Today I want to tell a story. It is about the TESL Block. When I was a junior at the English Studies Department, I heard a lot of rumours about the department. Some of the lecturers and seniors love to scare us with ghost stories about the block. Rumours said that the third floor is haunted and others said that it is inhabited by the “banglas” aka foreigners. And, we are very afraid of going to the third floor. We will be extra aware every time when we climb up the stairs so that we don’t climb overboard to the third floor. Also, the block is literally dark because the corridors, walkways and stairs are not brightly lit. Sometimes, we have class as early as seven in the morning. From the hostel, I will walk together with my friends around six fifty a.m. across the dark, silent field to get to the “haunted” building (but actually it’s not). Those are the days that I cherished the most but can never go back.

Quote of the day #1

Image
True right? Similar to the quote from Ki-woo's father in movie Parasite (2019). Sometimes a good quote will transpire over time 😊 Read the full movie review here: https://botakheadisfashion.blogspot.com/2020/03/movie-lesson-2-parasite-2019.html

Movie Lesson 3: Cars 3 (Spooky Illuminati of Threes here!)

Image
Since it's the Covid-19 outbreak, I managed to catch another movie within the comfort of home! Cars 3! This movie is not so my favourite but still I loved to write a reflection on what I learned through watching this movie! Alert,  spoilers ahead ! #Lesson 1: Always Believe in Yourself People would always criticize or make comments on people who succeed/ better than them. So, other than God, always believe that in yourself! You success relies heavily on whether you believe you can or cannot. Cruz(yellow car) did not believe herself can become a racer one day. But Lightning McQueen gave her the injection of confidence to help her find her own self-confidence. But remember, people like Lightning McQueen is seldom to find in real life! People will bash your faith in you, whether purposely or not. Be confident about your self! #Lesson 2: It's Never too Late to Follow Your Dreams Do you remember your childhood dreams? your childhood dreams most likely will not success as y...

Movie Lesson 2: Parasite (2019)

Image
Just by looking at the cover.... don't you think it's a horror movie? Then I search through the details of the movie: found out that it is under the category of comedy, horror. So i decided to give it a try! (since it is the Restricted Movement Order). PARASITE is a roller-coaster ride with twist after twist and it won our hearts not just by being entertaining, but a shocking reflection of class disparity and helplessness of the lower class society. Here's what I found out after watching the movie. Alert: Spoilers Ahead! 1. Learn to Earn Money through the Right Way 君子爱财,取之有道 The poor family, the Kim's, con their way into becoming servants of a rich family, the Parks. The male character in the movie (Ki Woo) forged his university certificate to get the job as an English home tutor for Da-hye (the rich man's daughter). Afterwards, he fooled the rich family to hire his sister(art therapist), father(driver), then mother (as housekeeper). We must...

Movie Lesson: Pixar's Inside Out

Image
Inside Out(2015) was a great movie that I watched today. I never get to watch it when it first released,  It was an "old" movie I guess but I think it's alright to turn our head once or twice for classics! Overall, it was a great movie! This movie is rated 8.2/10 on IMDb tho! If you haven't seen the movie, it tells the story of the emotional life of an 11-year-old girl, Riley, by showing each of her main emotions as a character. Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust work as a team, taking turns at Riley's control panel (which guides Riley's behavior) while consulting and debating with each other on how to handle different situations in Riley's life. Alright, so let's get straight to the point: Lessons I Learn from this movie! Alert: Spoilers Ahead! 1. There's no happiness if there's no sad: There are all feelings that we go through! Like a favourite quote of mine: There's no rainbow without a storm. Every feeling is ...

A Short Discussion About Physical and Moral Development of a Country

I never regret that I embarked on the tertiary level of education journey. In this five-year journey, it develops and shapes one's mind to think more rationally, as it broadens our perspectives towards one self, family, and the world. Today, I would like to give my two-cent thoughts about physical and moral development.  In my dictionary, physical development of a country refers to the advancement of physical infrastructures in a country such as having high-rise building, complete public transportation system, modernised facilities and any other physical developments. Physical developments can be seen and people always judge how developed a country is by the physical development that they have in the country.  On the other hand, moral development of a country refers to the personal and humane characteristics development of the society or on the smaller scale, an individual. During infancy and adolescents period, moral is developed and learned from the family and the p...
