Pengalaman seorang pelajar IPG

Selamat membaca! :) Hari ini merupakan sebuah hari yang indah. Burung-burung sedang berkicauan di atas pokok. Hari ini amat penting bagi David. David yang berpakaian sekolah menggalas begnya lalu berjalan menuju ke sekolah. Dalam perjalanannya, David perlu lalui sebuah jalan yang sempit dan terpencil. Tempat itu sering berlaku kes samun dan rompak. David sampai awal ke sekolah hari ini, maka dia berjalan-jalan di sekitar sekolah. Walaupun sekolah David sangat besar, namun pelajarnya tidak kelihatan ramai kerana ia bertempat di sebuah perkampungan yang kecil. David berasa bosan lalu membuka buku teks tingkatan empatnya untuk membaca.. “Hei David! Apa khabar? Apa awak buat ah masa cuti sekolah?” James bertanya. Rupa-rupanya hari tersebut adalah hari pertama sesi persekolahan selepas cuti akhir tahun yang panjang. “James, saya baik-baik saja. I wonder how school is like? Some say it is a place to study, Some say it is a place to have fun, But my parents say it is a balance of both worlds. I wonder how pupils in school are like? Some say they are very friendly and good people, Some say they are evil and backstab you all the time, But my parents say they are the ones that accompany you through your hard times. I wonder how teachers are like? Some say they are as fierce as tigers, Some say they are lovely like the roses, but my parents say they are nice if you do your work on time. I wonder how the canteen is like? Some say the food is oily and unhealthy, Some say the food is nice and fresh, But my parents say “be selective of what you eat and you will be healthy”. Oh, now that I know, that school is a place for both study and fun, get new friends, cooperate with the teachers, and eat healthily. I can’t wait to go to school!

Early in the morning when the sun has not risen, cars and buses are already jamming up on the road, in a single lane, heading towards one direction. The queue of the vehicles on the road are like packed sardines as all the cars are tailgating and keeping a very tiny gap with the car in front. The feeling is very tense and intense as though the drivers have zero toleration with other road users. The blinding spotlights flashed from the vehicles are a mixture of white-ish and yellowish. They are too glaring to the eyes that pedestrians would not like it. Due to the unusual heavy jam, the bus drivers have to disembark the school children at the junction. Suddenly, it rains heavily. The school children have to run through the lanes of cars to find a shelter or a roof. Motorists are rushing through their ways recklessly. They ignore the pedestrians that are crossing the roads, and in certain circumstances they almost hit the jaywalkers who are running across the street. Phew! That is dang...

Date: 2 nd April 2019 Teaching is not an easy profession. Today, I went into a Year 1 classroom as a “Guru Ganti” aka REPLACEMENT TEACHER. The class was horrible. It is not about the physical environment of the classroom, it is the pupils’ behaviour. Year 1 pupils are the worse to handle because they are kind of “hyper” in a sense that they will do whatever they like, and you don’t wish that they will listen to you because they won’t. The kids are fighting, teasing, and not under control. Can you imagine yourself teaching this bunch of monkeys? Simply put, teaching Year 1 pupils is not easy because the pupils are very hard to focus on the lesson especially when the teacher is like giving a “lecture” (this is very me because the way I deliver my lesson is really like a lecture!
